Return Fees

We take great pride in shipping instruments in excellent condition. Instruments are expected to be maintained to a reasonable degree during your rental. A minimum reconditioning/cleaning fee will apply on return, which varies by instrument. Please view the list below. These fees are basic fees and required to place the instrument in proper condition before renting again. The reconditioning fee is minimal and in most cases the only fee we will apply, as long as the rental package is returned in reasonable condition. "Reasonable condition" is determined by condition of return and length of rental and this assessment cannot be made until we have your return in hand.

We understand return fees are a touchy subject. It is rare that we charge anything other than the basic reconditioning fee. We cover most repairs that involve wear with normal use such as pads, springs and many other issues. We want you to return to us and recommend us to your friends. In some instances however, it is a necessary part of the rental business so we provide a brief review of what charges may apply when you return. Please care for your rental and help us in making renting a musical instrument a fun experience for everyone. That is our #1 goal!

Basic Reconditioning Fees for Rental Returns:	Other issues we may charge for:

Small (Flutes, Trumpets & Clarinets etc..) Band Instrument Reconditioning Fee - $19 Covers basic cleaning and adjustment. Mid Size (Saxophones) Band Instrument Reconditioning Fee - $29 Covers basic cleaning and adjustment. Large Brass, Tubas, Sousaphones, Baritones, French Horns: $39 (Deposits on these large instruments refunded only after tech inspection and adjustment completed)' String Instruments: $19 for violins and violas & $29 for Cellos - covers new strings and basic cleaning and adjustment.	Case Replacement: Dollar amount varies. Cases are not covered items. If they are worn beyond our acceptable rental parameters, they must be replaced. In the rare instance we must replace a case we charge only what it costs us (dealer cost) to replace the item in question. In general one should expect to pay between $19-$39 on average if the case has to be replaced for any small to mid-sized rental instrument. Larger items such as tubas and cellos will cost more to replace. Bow Replacement: Dollar amount varies. Bows are not covered items. If they are worn beyond our acceptable rental parameters they must be replaced. In the rare case we must replace a violin. viola or cello bow we charge only what it costs us (dealer cost) to replace the item in question. In general one should expect to pay between $14 & up on average if the bow has to be replaced or re-haired. Custom Shop Violins bow replacement will be at a higher rate. Cosmetic Repair: Paint touch up, crack repair, dents and other cosmetic issues will be assessed on an individual basis. We do not micro-analyze your return looking to charge fees, but if it's something that need's to be addressed, a fee to cover cosmetic repair may be assessed.
Deposit Refund Policy: Deposits are refunded after the instrument has been inspected. Typically within 14 days of return.
