(Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: How long am I obligated to rent it for?
A: You are only committed for the upfront rental period. Once that expires you are charged on a month to month basis and may return at anytime.
Q: Is it Rent To Own? Can I purchase it?
A: While our program is not a straight rent to own program in most cases, you may purchase the instrument for the price stated in your checkout contract, and apply the stated amount of allowable paid rental fees towards that purchase. Each instrument is different so review the particular contract by clicking rent now.
Q: How can I option my buyout?
A: Simply email or call us and request your buyout total. We will calculate your buyout and process your final invoice upon your approval.
Q: What if my instrument requires service?
A: If your instrument requires service simply call or email us, we will replace it as quickly as possible. Your replacement will include a pre-paid Fed Ex label. You would then ship back the instrument requiring service. While there is shipping cost, please compare to doing so on a local level, your time involved and long repair times, which you will not have with our service.
Q: Is insurance extra?
A: Damage/Loss coverage is included w most rentals unless otherwise stated but does not cover negligence or intentional damage or loss. Some higher value items such as Tuba, Sousaphone, Baritone Horns etc... do not include coverage. High end rental customers should consult with their homeowners or renters insurance for a rider.
Q: What if we need to move up in size or wish to upgrade?
A: You can upgrade, change size or return at anytime following the initial rental period.
Q: How do I return my instrument?
A: You may find the Rental Return Form here.
Q: What if I decide to only rent for a month and return my rental early.
A: You may of course return your rental early however paid rental fees are non-refundable. We do not pro-rate your return.
Q: Is my rental new?
A: Although we do introduce new items to our rental inventory constantly and we are very particular about what we send to our customers, typically you should expect an instrument in VG to Exc. condition, fully serviced and ready to go. You may request a new instrument at the time of buyout, should you elect to purchase and we will provide you with a brand new instrument at that time. We will work with you to make sure your happy with your experience here. We feel this is a fair alternative to the popular rent-to-own programs that offer cheap instruments at exorbitant final prices. We offer many well known brand name models.
Q: Who pays for return shipping?
A: You are responsible for the safe return of the instrument as well as all shipping costs. We can arrange to email you a pre-paid Fed Ex tag on request. Your account will be billed.
Q: Are there return fees?
A: Yes, every returned rental is charged a minimal return fee for reconditioning and cleaning. We cover parts, labor and most repairs at our expense (pads, springs, valves, rods etc..) Some items are simply not covered such as strings, cases and bows. We feel our program is honest and straight forward in its explanation. We want your return business and recommendation. Fees here are kept to a minimum and charged with discretion. This policy ensures your rental as with every rental we send out is adjusted to proper specifications and ready for the student to embark on his/her musical exploration.
